QUESTION
What’s the ruling on a traveller praying behind a resident imam for a 4 rakat salah? Do they pray 2 or is it allowed to pray 4 behind an imam?

If a traveller (musāfir) prays behind an Imām who is a resident, the traveller will pray 4 rak’āt with the Imām. The traveller will not shorten the prayer when following an Imām who is praying the full number of rak’āts.
